Is this book really a book?
Posted on 24. Jan, 2010 by admin in Kindle
I just heard about this book “The Chopin Manuscript,” but it looks like it’s only in audiobook format. Does anyone know if this comes as a printed book that can be read as opposed to listened to? I did see that amazon has a Kindle edition and it didn’t say anywhere that it was audio as opposed to ebook, but I find it strange that borders, amazon and my local public library do not carry this as a regular printed book. Does anyone know if it comes in a printed copy? Can you buy Kindle books and read them on your computer if you don’t have a kindle or ipod touch?

I can only reply to the Kindle question and as far as I know, no you cannot read kindle books on your computer. I own a kindle and think they should allow you to read the books on computer, sony does. You might want to check their store, I think its ebook.com? You can always find out at sony.com. I use to own the sony reader and could read books purchased from their store on computer or the sony ereader (very nice). Hope this helps.

No, you can’t read Kindle format using your computer. One of the main reasons I didn’t bother with a Kindle.
The book you mention is in audio only:

It is available in Audio CD, not printed book, as you can see it here:
However, it is true that the Kindle version is much cheaper:
But unfortunately, you cannot read Kindle books on your computer:
So if it is affordable, you can consider to buy the Kindle. I like my Kindle 2 very much because I can buy books on it quite a lot cheaper. I’ve just answered a question related to this, see if it helps:

See here for the answer on whether you can read Kindle books on your computer:
So actually it is in audio format but you still need the Kindle. There is just a price cut for the Kindle 2 so it is a good chance to get it at the best price:
