Kindle 2 for computer programming books?
Posted on 03. Jun, 2009 by admin in Kindle Accessories
I was thinking about buying Kindle 2 mainly to support the many computer programming books, but will kindle 2 be as any good as having the real book? I mean will it be hard to see the examples and code in kindle versus in a book? I’m not worried about the text, i’m just worried if kindle will cover the code in the books well

As long as the book is properly formatted, it will be as easy to read as a book. The only thing the Kindle cannot do is display color pictures, but code is basically text so there should be no problem.
And there is the 30 day return policy. Buy the Kindle and one book for an example. If you don’t like it you can get a refund on both the Kindle and the book.
I’ve had a Kindle 1 for 6 months now and I love it. I read more now than I ever did before.

Real books are better.
1. There are more choices. Not every book is ported to Kindle.
2. You will likely have to flip them back and forth, it’s a lot easier to do it with a real book.
3. You can get used books very cheaply. With Kindle, even though the book costs less than a retail price (not by much), you will still have to pay a lot more.
Believe me, I had enough experience with ebook readers.

If you buy books in Kindle version, it is just exactly the same as the actual books.
If you are in doubt, you can read some review to help your decision. Here are some good resources:

I’m a Kindle 2 owner. Kindle 2 has quite a large screen, and reading with the Kindle 2 is just like reading a book. If you can read the code well in actual book, I think there shouldn’t be problem to read them with the Kindle.
You can check the actual customer review on Amazon before you buy. It is the most informative place, and you should be able to make up your mind there:
